Appreciate the great info!!!
You are welcome. That wouldn't happen if they had left the mirrors on the windshield frame.

I had a small dent - about same size, same depth - at 4~5 inches left of gas cap. (I posted a thread: https://www.jk-forum.com/forums/show...ight=ding+king )

Anyway, I bought a Ding King and tried it. I was really skeptical but it only cost around $20 (incl. shipping), and it didn't seem to make it worse. So, I tried it, and it worked!!! It's not going to make it perfectly smooth like before, but it definitely pops-out the dent and cannot see the dent unless you really look for it (or feel it with the finger). Unless you know the dent was there, you cannot really see it.

That being said, I don't know if Ding King works on the curved surface... and your dent is right on the hood; very visible area. My dent was on the flat surface and less visible area - nobody really look around gas cap area anyway.

Yep that's the dent the mirrors make. Trust me I know for a fact that it happens when the strap is off and the door swings wide open. I got one just behind the antenna. I look at it this way even though it is a stupidity dent and not a trail one: "It's not a dent it's a beauty mark."

I would take it back to the dealer and tell them you never had the straps off. But they did. That was an early on problem, Jeeps on lots had them because salesmen were taking the straps off to show people and not putting them back on.

Make them fix it with paintless dent removal. I am sure they have guys that come by often to fix cars on the lot.

Dealer said no problem at all, owned up the mistake on their technician's part, and sked to have the body/dent person come to the dealership and fix it on Monday. Didn't even blink an eye, apologized, gave me money off on a Fuel Door cover as well.

Can't ask for more than that.
