Default 2 door sunrider softtop question

I havent tried it, but before I did, thougt I'd ask. Is it possible to put the 2 door sunrider soft top up with out the plastic door surrounds on?? I have my doors off on my Sahara, but may like to put the top up in the afternoons (when its HOT). Really dont like riding around with the plastic surrounds on and the top down - and dont want to carry them with me.

No, it is connected to the door surround in sunrider mode. The top will blow down once you get on the road if it isn't. And I should know, my passenger side door surroud latch is broken, last time I tried with my doors off my top did come free and I had to stop and put it up completely.

I suppose you could tie it down good if you really wanted too though.

I was wanting to put it up all the way (not in sunrider) with the door surrounds off. I was not sure if the surrounds provided any other support when the top is FULLY up.

I've done that - No doors and top up without windows.
That's actually how i am right now. I've done it with and without the door surrounds and I recommend using them. The top feels much more secure with them on. It really doesn't obstruct the view as much as you'd think

I do that all the time in a swb, works fine (just be sure that the sunrider plastic sleeve parts are covering the pivot point)
