2007-09 vs 2010-17 Dana 30 front axle housing
Mopar lists part number 68004069AA for 2007-09 that sells for a little over $800 online and part number 68004069AC for 2010-17 that sells for a little over $1200 online.
My Jeep is a 2012 2dr Wrangler Arctic with 3.21 gears and a bent front axle housing. Does anyone know the dillerence in these two housings and if I can use the cheaper, older version to replace mine?
My JK sees limited offroad use so I don't want to spend the extra money to upgrade to a Dana 44.

Thanks, but I have not been able to find a straight one except at junkyards that want more than new prices for used axles.

MAG00 was asking about selling a D30/44 front/rear combo with 3.73 gearing and rear LSD last week. He's in Texarkana. It would be a little more work, but if you could buy something like that, then turn around and sell your current rear axle for a little bit, you'd be in generally the same amount of money and get a slight gear upgrade in the process; however, I know we all look at that kind of effort/work differently. One thing you got on your side is you're looking for an axle/gear combo most people are trying to get rid of. Course, if time is not on your side that's a real booger.

Another thought is just calling some of the larger/reliable 4x4 shops around town and see if they know anyone that might have a factory axle for sale. Lot of those shops are plugged in to who is doing major axle upgrades and what not, and might be able to put you in contact with someone. Local jeep clubs as well might be of assistance locating something. Multi-city Craigslist searches can be useful too. Just brainstorming......would stink to have to pay for a brand new D30 housing.
Thanks for the tips.
I am a new user and the forum will not let me post a "wanted" ad so I will post here.
WANTED: Stock front axle housing for Wrangler JK Dana 30, bare housing or complete assembly.
Prefer 2010 or newer 3.21 but will consider any axle that will fit or front/rear combo if price is right.

Hey, not sure it works for you or not, but if you haven't addressed your axle yet, see someone has a D30 for sale in DFW area for $100. No knuckle/hubs/brake, but that shouldn't matter for you as you could reuse yours. Link if interested -
