Hi guys,

Have you guys ahd a recall regarding rear brake tube clearance issues in the States??? In Australia we have just recieved this recall...

Defect Details: Investigations have shown that some vehicles may have insufficient clearance between the steering intermediate shaft and the rear brake tubes. Prolonged brake tube contact could wear a hole in the tube and cause a partial brake system loss.

I havent heard anything about this one yet....

I had checked mine out regarding the steering clunk a long time ago, I do not offhand recall anything being close enough to the brake system to be an issue, but then i wasn't specifically looking for it either...

Isnt Australia right hand drive though? Because of that, and that so far no one in the US has reported it, i would speculate that it might be possible it is just an issue on right hand drive models?

Yeah ...we are right hand drive here... dunno either
Its not a big job though, all they doing is installing a clip to hold the brake tubes away from the steering shaft...they are replacing any damaged tubes aswell..

It was to dark before work for me to pop the hood or crawl under and take a peek, i will however do so later on, it's worth a minute to check into. I appreciate the heads up to a possible problem.
