I have been off of here for a while as I had to sell my 2007 rescue green 2dr. I just bought a 2007 Bright Silver 2dr. The only difference I see between the two is the 6 disc in dash radio, cruise control and hinges on the hardware over the doors making it look like a sunrider top. Build sheet says nothing about a sunrider top and the manual indicates a sunrider top however only for the unlimited. Can anyone shed some light? btw, the top is a mopar top. Thanks and I am stoked to be back in a JK!

 

So, are you saying you have the hinges/clips for a sunrider top, but your Jeep does not have one? If so, someone must have either sold the soft top then got the stuff together later when they wanted it again, or swapped the surrounds somehow.

 

Thanks for the reply. The hardware with the hinges appears to be part of the actual soft top currently on the jeep. I just bought it 2 days ago and I am in flagstaff and it's way too cold to attempt to take the top down. Just puzzled because the top is exactly like my last one except for the hinges. Thanks again.

 

If it has the hinges above the window it is a sun rider.

Hm, well like stated before, if it has he hinges it must be a sunrider. My only guess is a prior owner put a sunrider on. I know my 2DR 08 had a non sunrider top but the prior owner sold it. I bought it with only a hard top and bikini top, so I got the surrounds, hardware, and top from places such as eBay and Craigslist, and made it so that I had a sunrider top.

 

From my understanding: If it is a soft-top only JK, it is the Sunrider. The dual top JK's got the 'standard' soft top.
