Yes, there was a TSB on this item a few months ago.

Yes but if you have an '08 and when they run the VIN the TSB for the squeal is not applicable to the '08's (mine was built 9-07) the disk squeak TSB is. I have the squeal on mine and they would not do the '07 TSB for the squeal they told me today that DC has an updated bearing for the '08's and it is being installed today along with the disk. Or maybe they finally gave in to my bitching after only putting 711 miles on it in the 4 weeks i have owned it and realized i had the problem from the '07's? i would bet to see the '06-'07 TSB be rolled into the '08's in the coming months if there are more out there with the squeal on and early built '08.

The TSB I read included JKs manufactured up until 2-28-2008 which include MANY 2008 JKs. Actually Jks being deliver now are probably the first to NOT be included in the TSB.

SUBJECT:
Squeak-Like Sound Due To Manual Transmission Clutch Disc

OVERVIEW:
This bulletin involves the replacement of the manual transmission clutch disc.

MODELS:
2007 - 2008 (JK) Wrangler

NOTE: This bulletin applies to Wrangler vehicles equipped with a 3.8L engine and manual transmission (sales codes EGT and DEH respectively), built on or before February 28, 2008 (MDH 0228XX).

SYMPTOM/CONDITION:
The customer may experience a squeak-like sound from the transmission clutch. This sound will occur when there is a change in engine torque. The squeak-like sound can be heard most often during: clutch engagement, acceleration (tip-in), and/or deceleration
maneuvers. This condition may be due to the clutch disc internal components.

Default Throwout squeal

My 2008 unlimited definitely has a throwout bearing issue...The dealer is giving me a run-around, telling me it's too new...needs to be broken in. (BS!!!) I saw the posts about the clutch disk problem, is there anything like that coming down the line for my issue or did I get the only one?

That TSB is for the disk not the bearing i had to bitch and moan to get my throwout bearing fixed along with the disk for comfort. It's still in the shop as a matter of fact took it in last wed was supposed to be done Friday now they say Monday. I at least get a rental car, but it's a frickin mini van i'll tell ya guys another thing esp the ones whining about gas mileage this van is a 2007 kia and my JK blows this thing away on fuel mileage. Oh and my JK only has 711 miles on it.
