2008 JKU No Crank
Hey all, thanks for accepting me into the forum. Long time lurker but first time posting. I recently acquired a 2008 JKU auto that’s been used as a Jeep. I got it for a really fair deal because it wouldn’t crank over. Does anyone have any suggestions as to where I can go from here? So far this is what I’ve accomplished
-confirmed battery is healthy (13.0v)
-checked and cleaned all grounds
-starter is new and it will crank when the starter relay has jumper in place
-tried the neutral safety switch jiggle
-checked all
necessary fuses and relays (all checked out good)
Here’s what has me confused. If the keys on and I Jump the starter relay with a jumper wire, the jeep will
crank but still won’t fire. Even in starting fluid. So I may have more than 1 problem. I don’t even hear the fuel pump with key on. Where do I start fellas. It’s been here a day and I’m ready to burn it.

Welcome. You need to jury rig a fuel pressure gauge on the line feeding the injector rails. You should turn the key on, no cranking and it should go to 49-52PSI. If not the pump is not working or has no circuit to it.
Not sure what to say about no crank, could be one of a dozen things. It is almost mandatory now that older Jeeps should come with full set of wiring diagrams. You need to get those wiring drawings and trace why the starter relay does not engage.

A common problem some have had with the auto not cranking is with the shifter linkage to the trans. It's not detecting the JK is in park. I haven't had that problem with my 2009 so far, so unfortunately can't provide further details but maybe someone will chime in who knows more or provide a link in the forum which discusses that particular problem.
