Will a 2008 soft top with all mounting equipment fit on my 2011. A guy has a brand new top off his 2008 and I'm hoping it will fit on my jeep.

The main things I want are the door surrounds but if the whole thing fits then that's a good deal for me. also have the door surrounds changed at all.

 

The 08 should fit your 2011 as long as you get all the parts including the surrounds as you mention.
The door surrounds from 07 to 09 are different than 2010 +.

07-09 tops use retaining clips to fasten to the door surrounds.
2010+ use a new system involving a cable, no clips

 

All I'm really looking for are the door surrounds and tailgate bar. But it's over 300 for the mopar parts. Bestop has a page advertising door surrounds, But it says coming soon. And they still haven't answered my emails. I'll just look for some 2010+ parts. Anyone have some for sale??

I put a 2010 on my 07. I'm fairly confident that it will work. They didn't change the body at all so the mounting locations should be the same.

 

In case anyone was wondering, bestop says that their door surround kits will be out in mid April. They don't have a tentative price but I'm sure it will be much cheaper than mopar prices.

I just don't wanna wait till April to instal my bikini/cargo net system. The weather is already awesome here in Texas. Guess I'll skim craigslist or drop $300+ on the mopar kit.

I found a guy in wichita falls selling all surrounds, tailgate bar and soft top (minus the windows) off an 08 for $250. Gonna go check them out Saturday. Not really interested in the top but if the surrounds mount up and work with my bikini top and cargo net I'm gonna get it.

Check the rear tailgate area in particular. I believe the hardtop is different in the rear glass area. Make sure that didn't carry over to the body or tailgate bar.

 

Bestop has come out with factory surrounds and tailgate bar. Costs around $150
