2009 died while at stoplight, wont start!

Update - Called the dealer this morning, they worked on it before I even had a chance to talk to them about it. Said it is a bad starter motor, and the battery was replaced last week because the marginal starter killed it. Now, the starter is completely dead.
They said a starter motor will be sent overnight and the Jeep will be ready tomorrow.

It seems to have been fixed. When cranking, it no longer has a rough metal on metal sound as it did after picking it up for the first time.
Nobody has any idea why it stalled while at a stop light the first time and would not start, or why the starter motor died slowly right afterwards.
