I was getting a new soft top under warranty. I drove into the city to get it. I was told the new top they ordered me is under the recall too. I told them I was putting my hard top on and would just pick up the new top. Nope... They have to install so I told them I would wait until next spring and then do it all then with a top that should be ok... Crossing my fingers.

 

I know I haven't! I hope I get some good news soon...

 

I bought my 2010 JKU sport used last month. I have holes in my top right at the bows. if i bought it used will i get a recall letter? Can I just take it in and have the recall done? Its still under warranty as of now.

 

I have a 2011 2 Door Sport and haven't gotten a Recall letter yet.

 

The recall is for the 4 door jeeps.

 

Ya, got mine in the mail yesterday and promptly inspected the problem area, no holes so looks like just the mod for me. Thanks for posting pics of what this looks like!

 

Got my notice today too. Going to check and see if I've got the holes forming or not (hoping so) getting a new soft top is easier than cleaning the old one

Somebody asked about a used one still being covered. Recalls are for the vehicle not the owner so yes if there is a recall on your Jeep you can still get the work done under that recall.

 

Just found out yesterday that I'm getting a new top as well. Does anyone know if the new top will have the patches installed or have they re-designed the tops to eliminate the "pin-hole" problem?...

 

In my case they are ordering a new top and the plastic guards

 

mine goes in Friday for this. NICE fix, looks real good . So they zip tie for plastic discs to the bows and that is their fix. WOW the engineers are busy at Chrysler. that looks like crap!
