On certain engines, the rings were improperly installed which "can" cause oil consumption issues.
in that case........NO ME GUSTA 3.8

What weight oil are you guys with the oil burners using?
My 2010 RU doesn't use a drop @38k miles.
I use 5w30 winter and 10w30 in the summer.

The consumption is worst when using the Chrysler recommended 5w20. Too thin for this motor IMO

I have a 2008 Rubicon unlimited 28000 miles on it with the same consumption issue, burned 5 quarts in 4000 miles, brought it into the dealer. Got a call the next day...they have ordered me a new engine. Said oil is leaking by the cylinders. Said they were putting the new engine in, not sure if that means the 3.6 that the new JK's have.

Sucks you had to deal with that but I guess it's a win in the end

Glad I found this, I was worried the fiancees was the only one. Checked the oil the other day when filling it up for her, and found it 2 qt low. Lucky for her its not her daily driver right now. Went ahead and changed the oil to 5w30 Mobil 1 this time, just 1,000 miles early. Hope it helps some, guess I'll have to check it more often.

It baffles me that this is such an epidemic and Chrysler turns their heads.

Not sure if I'd call it an epidemic. My 10 JKUR has been flawless & uses no oil.
I'd partially blame it on these new era Jeepers that spend more time online than they do with their Jeep. A seemingly clueless bunch.

I disagree... My nitro did it, my friends minivan still does it and a ton of people here report it. Not to mention the people who aren't on forums.
Seems pretty widespread to me
