Default 2010 soft-top

TWO QUESTIONS:

1. Anyone know if a 2010 soft-top will work on an '09? Would i need any different parts (surrounds, etc.) if so?

2. Any feedback from 2010 owners? How do you like the new style top? I like the cable idea (sans clips on the sides). But I've heard rumor that they may flap at high speed?

thanks!

i just installed a soft top from a 2010 onto my 08, fit perfectly but i had the surrounds from the 2010 so if you don't have those i have no idea if it works.as far as the flapping goes it is silent at highway speeds.hope this helps

2010 Top = 2010 Door Surrounds

2007-2009 Top = 2007-2009 Door Surrounds

The 2010's have a Cable that LAY on the Door Surrounds, as opposed to Wrap Under it like the 2007-2009 Drip Rail Retainers do.

Hope this helps!

Cheers!

Cool Cable top on 2007 x unlimited with '08 hardware

I found a '10 top only (undisclosed) on ebay for 250.00 including shipping and the same day found a local seller with a '08 top for $400. I am currently running the cable top over the '08 surrounds it seems to fit well. I have yet to test highway against the wind or car wash/rainstorm. I will update later. I do like the way the steel header seals better than the '08. I ran the top as a safari for a couple of days before I installed the '08 and decided to try it with the old hardware.

So it looks like this can work. I really like the idea of the steel header

Just put a '10 soft top on my 08. Fit perfectly. 09 should be the same.

Default '10 soft top on '07 Unlimited

Here's the update. I ran it on the highway at speed with winds... no different than the '08 top. The header seals so much better than the cheap plastic one. My '08 top would pass a lot of air at highway speed and had a center leak, none so far with the '10 top. I ran it through the high pressure double pass car wash last night at no leaks around the cable top at all. I had the rear window zipper leak but that's a Jeep thing. I am digging the sunrider one sided operation. Feel free to ask if you have questions.

Default 2010 Top and Frame on 2008 HArdware and windows

Still no problems with the config. I am waiting for a rainstorm... still. My lawn has given up already.

I'm in the same boat. Just installed the new top on my '08. Love it. But have yet to encounter some REAL rain.
