It's Only Water! Jeep engineers have a nasty sense of humor.

Stay at home on rainy days! haha

On a serious note, this baffles me too but I was thinking the silicone method would be the way to go. Personally, I am leaving it alone as I have gotten pretty good at quickly swinging my legs in without soaking my pant legs.

Default may have a solution

I'm dealing with this now (hurricane season). I have full doors and this happens with top on or off. I'm long ago ripped out the carpet (rhino-lined), so what I'll do is mount an inside drain (half pvc pipe)to the doors with a tube to drain the water to the floor. I figure I can open the door slowly, allow all the water to fall in that's gonna, drain to the floor and then my seats are dry.

I'll post pictures when i get it rigged.

You could probably extend the gutter on the freedom panel about an inch using fiberglass patching & resin. If you did a decent job of it & sanded & painted it to match it may even look OK. I had a fair bit of experience when I was younger working on fiberglass boats so I'm thinking of giving it a go; I'll post pics if I do.

I live in a area that has a lot of rain, so after summer I put a bit of plyable black puty from the front off the drip moulding to the windshield piller, this is enough to redirect the water.(this will work if you are not going to remove the tops for fall, winter)

I have a similar issue, I removed the carpet, after finding a saturated carpet after a good rain storm. Seems as if the water is comming through the top seal on the passenger door , than truckles down toward the dash tweater speaker down to the foot well. At leat with the carpet removed , I can always check for water. Does not happen all the time, depends on angle of rain. . I consider it a Jeep Thing. The Jeep feels if your gona leave her outdoors in the rain, she would like to share that wet moment with you as well....lol

As for the rain gutter poring water on entry or exit , I find it refreshing....
