Default 2011 - 2012 Wrangler ECO Fuel saver indicator not working

Not sure if I have this in the right section but here goes.

This is for 2011 - 2012 Wrandlers with manual 6 speed only please.

Driving to work today I noticed that the ECO indicator was not engaging when the RPMs were in the 1000 to 2200 rpm range or the green zone on the tach. It was working up to yesterday when I drove home from work. I checked and it is turned on in the user settings. It has been working since day one and the jeep only has 5000 km on the clock. I like having this feature as I have been getting 550 km to a tank city driving. I have had all the recommended flashes from the dealer and it was working until today.

Has anyone experienced this in there 2011, 2012?

Cheers

Correct me if I'm wrong, but isn't the Eco indicator for telling you if you are driving within the most Eco friendly bounds? It really doesn't effect performance or consumption, just tells you when your in a good range?

If that's the case it's probably just a computer glitch?

This actually happened to me 2 days ago , I had started the jeep in 4 lo without the clutch in and the check engine light came on and that eco light stopped working. I plugged my scanner in it showed a p0835 which was a high resistance code for the clutch I believe. I cleared the code shortly after that the eco light started working again too. No problems with the way it drives or anything though. I'm going to the dealer next week for a new shifter boot under warranty so ill be sure to ask about it.

the Ecolight also monitors load on the engine, just because you are in the right gear/rpm doesnt mean the engine isnt under load and not running in ECO mode.

I realise that and understand how it works. I have had these in other cars as well. Thanks

It was definately not working this morning. I was on the highway that I drive every day and the car was not under load. I took my jeep out at lunch and it is working again. I have an OBDII reader at home. I will check for trobble codes when I get home.

Just so you guys know, I am not new to autos. Here is a pic of my other toy, a 2005 mustang GT/SC, 540 FWHP.

Default bring it in to dealer but:

I f it were me id be happy to see that light not on! its not accurate nor is the miles per gal while traveling so I believe its just something put there to make you think your saving gas and driving correctly but when you've been driving for 30 + years I don't need to be told im conserving correctly at a certain rpm , I know what slow means I think the milage per gal. is a joke and put there to makr you think your doing realy great if you drive at this speed try a maual reading and youl find you didn't get 24 mpg haha nice looking guage though realy made you think this jeep does all kinds of stuff

keep your eyes on the road your hands apon the wheel said mojo
