Hey all,

I've got the dreaded transmission rattle. Sounds like marbles in a can. Sound only goes away with the clutch released (pedal down).

I'm thinking input shaft or input shaft bearing. Thoughts?

 

Symptoms are classic throwout bearing but mine didn't make that low of a noise.

 

Roll over noise . , if it goes away when clutch is pressed down , its normal roll over they make noise in neutral . if it were making the noise when clutch was engaged it would be throw out
i would ignore it or get used to it it wont effect anything my 2012 makes noise and always has . most standards do make noise in neutral some more than others
yours increases on throttle might be something else that sounds like its coming from tranny and not! it is pretty pronounced though. id dump the tranny oil first and get some amsoil syncro mesh 5/30 see if it stops it or it may quiet it down . maybe theres no oil in there lol then id check to see if the tranny is not alligned properly maybe a mount has shifted and knocked it out of alignment ?
even cars have it however id change that oil and see if got miss aligned somehow maybe a motor mount even

 

I'll check the other things you mentioned, thanks! I don't think it's normal...I've never heard it this loud in any other JK before. It's much louder than the video suggests, it's pretty terrible.
