I came from a 04 TJ, and when the dealership called me and said come in and check out the new 2011 Interior I sorta said wtf, why would I care what the interior was like in a Jeep.

Then when I changed my mind and wanted to get a new jeep the interior really struck me as a nice upgrade. its kinda the best of both words, rugged 4x4 guts with a nice upscale SUV interior.

Not saying anything bad about the older JK interior but I thought it was a step back from the TJ interior overall, they tried to make it too rugged looking, Hummer did the same thing and the last years the redesigned them to look nicer and less rugged.

Its all plastic at the end of the day , just a different mold and different buttons.

My wife just got a 2011 and I have a 2010. I still like my interior but I like hers a lot better. It is more classy looking without being too luxury.

Just traded the 2010 for a 2011, so I know both interiors very well. I have to give the nod to the 2011. It is not for any big reasons, just a lot of small ones...the dash storage tray, thicker steering wheel feels better to my large hands, steering wheel controls are nice, the invertor and 115 volt outlet means I don't need a separate car charger for my phone and stuff, remote USB port in the console with iPod control built-in, padded armrests on the doors mean no more sore elbow on long trips, and most important, deeper cup holders that actually hold my bottle of soda from jarring loose.

My buddy has an '08 and while I liked his interior, I love my 2011 interior. He does also. I like the fact that the door panels have enough of a ledge such that you can rest your arm on it. However there is still that useless net in front of the shifter that manual transmission owners can't make use of...not sure about the autos.

I had my 2010 Mountain 2 dr parked beside a 2011 Sahara Unlimited which is loaded to the teats. (guy I work with owns it) We were comparing vehicles with a few other guys, and the first thing the non jeep owners commented on were the aggressive tread of my tires and the rims. They liked them a lot more than the Sahara models tires and rims.
I like the storage area on top of the dash on the 11 model. Some of the refinements on the 2011 model are very nice, but still made with the same materials.

I put the insurance paperwork there, and the garage door opener. Not much use for it otherwise.

I also came from a 2010. I like how my 11 seems to have a more streamlined look. I know it is all plastic, but the new interior in my opinion looks less like molded plastic. The storage is great too, especially the opening in between the front air vents, and the arm rest is also great.

I wish I had the new interior. Mabe not as rugged as my 07 but then mine is more refined than the TJ I suppose...I like the new one almost enough to trade mine in

I love the interior of my '11. I was not a big fan of the 2010 and below. I had an '06 TJ that I just traded and I liked the interior much better than the earlier JK's until I got my '11. It is not cushy, but gives the feel of being so I guess. It still feels very much like a Jeep to me on the inside.
