Default 2012 JKUR sway bar issues.

Well, had a great day planned to help my buddy break in his 1 week old rubi. Found some great trails that let him test out all the gear - swaybar e disco, lockers and we even put the skid plates to the test. He was pretty impressed with the new ride until we got back on to the FSR. He put it in 2 wheel drive and the sway bar light started flashing and has yet to come off, even after 60 km of pavement and highway speeds. Obviously he's pretty choked that he has to take it back to the dealer with less than 400 km's on it. I'm thinking he may have taken it out of 4wd before locking the discos and this may have confused the system.??? I know my 12jkur did some weird stuff during the initial break in period but I mean really, sumthings wrong here.
Anyone else having similar issues in a 2012? Is there an easy fix? I've been searching but can't find much regarding the 12's.

Probably a dumb question (and not meant to insult), but I assume he pushed the button to turn it off? You didn't mention it in your post.

It will blink as it tries to reconnect at speeds over 18 mph (29 km/h) per the owners manual.

Well of course we tried the button. We hit speeds of up to 100km/hr and it was still flashing.
it did sound like it was engaging, but still flashing.

Disconnect the battery for about 20 minutes then reconnect and check to see if you have a different result. Sometimes that helps if it's just a computer read error (like rebooting a computer). Have you jacked up the front end to see if the swaybar is actually disconnected (as opposed to the sending unit just thinking its disconnected)?

I had this issue once. Put it in 4wd hi and press the button. If it goes to a solid light it's disconected. Then press it again and it should only flash till it's reconnected. Once it turns of flick her back into 2wd hi. It may take a few meters of driving to turn off. And that should be that.
Otherwise head for the stealership.

I find sometimes when re-engaging the sway bars it helps to rock the jeep back and forth a few times as its flashing. Helps to align the bar.

It will continue to flash if you left it on while switching to 2wd. The disconnect is still technically turned on but being overridden by the gear you are in. Hit the button again in any gear or switch to 4low, let it engage, turn it off, and switch to 2wd as someone else said. Report back after that.

Update: Buddy brought it to the dealer today. They said the sway bar motor failed. Won't have his Jeep back till at least late tomorrow. I'm curious to see how the Stealership handles this issue on an 8 day old Jeep.

Ouch. I knew they were bad to fail but that's quick!
