Default 2012 shifter knob

I want to paint over of the chrome on both shift knobs in my 2012 JKUR and am curious to know if anyone else has pictures of how it looks. Am thinking of either going all black or matching the same light grey I have around the dash air vents and door handle trim. Thanks in advance!!

You better wetsand the crap out of it cause even with primer, the paint isn't going to stick well to the chrome finish.

Can I just buy black replacement pieces instead? Or is there anything else out there that looks better than the ugly chrome stock shifter?
