I'm just curious if anyone else out there has had anything similar. I've got a 2012 JKU Rubi Automatic and just recently have heard a rattling/clicking coming from under the Jeep. Well I thought it might be a heat shield, but when it's cold and I put it in reverse or drive is when the sound is accentuated.

I crawled under the Jeep with it in gear and my wife on the brakes, to try and pinpoint the sound. It definitely sounds like its coming from the transmission. Anybody have any issues that sound similar? I'm taking it in to get it checked out but was just curious. Thoughts or ideas on possibilities of what it is? I feel comfortable wrenching on my Jeep, but I'm by no means a mechanic.

I have a 2012 unlimited Rubi also with an Auto and have a little bit of a pinging sound when I am driving slightly above idle.. i.e. driving into a parking garage or whatever..

i have not gotten it checked out yet... but probably will sometime..
