Default 2012 Value

I went to trade my LOADED 2012 Sahara that "Suppose to sound that way" today at Dodge Dealer. Even though Black book and true car put my 2012 loaded Sahara at 27000-28000 and KBB put it at 28500. I was offered a mere 22,000 and it is in excellent condition. Except for the... you know what
This was at a Dodge dealer.

I know you laughed in their faces and then walked out the door. Why are you trading it in? Tell them to fix the "you know what" and then give you what it is worth.

Well it had engine problems for one, a serious water leak as well and you smoke like crazy in it and the thousands of miles you've racked up.

I think you got a great offer

I just traded in my bare bones 2012 Sport for a 2012 Rubicon. The Sport had only three options, a hard top, air conditioning, and an auto trans. I paid $24 K for that Jeep in April. It had 1600 miles on it, and I got $21 K out of it for trade in. I thought that was a fair price. I saved $1417 on sales tax that I did not have to pay on the Rubicon, by trading in the Sport. If I had wanted to sell the Sport outright I would have had to sell it for $22,417 just to break even. I didn't think too many people were going to buy a used JK for $22,400 when they could buy the same Jeep, brand new, for only $1500 more.

lets not forgot the dealers is in it to make money, you could have probably negotiate a little bit more, or maybe try to get a better deal on the 2012, but you will never get the Book price when trading in, that's what the dealer will try to get for it.

traded even today for a 2012 Charger SXT plus Redline (MSRP 34000) with sunroof and rallye package 31 mpg. I like it a lot. Very nice ashtray in it too.. On paper it says they gave me 27000 for the Sahara and I only paid 28000 for it 5400 miles ago. (even removed my RHB nav {its for sale in the section for that})

Say what you want but I am relieved of the stress.. Enjo Yo Buggy

edit: yeah i SAID even as in no money out the door BAM DONE!

What ???? Did I miss something.

A Charger ?????

You bitch about problems with a JK

You ain't seen nothing yet. You got the Hemi right ? You ain't heard ticking yet. Especially with the cylinder disable feature which sounds like crap when it activates.

I'm in Law Enforcement and the Hemi's in our Chargers love to eat heads and valve trains.

Good grief what not a camero or vetter or mustang. Something else than a Charger.

Well chime in from time to time.

NO NOT A HEMI a hemi doest get 31 mpg but a good 25. I realize it has the pentastar engine but not the Wrangler Pentastar engine. I m too tall for a camaro I tried.

I had both a 3.5 challenger and then upgraded to a hemi challenger (green with Envy) and HATED it. The rumble and vibration just wasnt for me and yeah it was a little ticky sounding too. I wanted a good size car that got good mpg and for the room and comfort of the charger and to get 31 mpg I thought it was a good fit for me..

I sincerely hope everyone here has the best of luck with their Jeeps. I really do. Understand I am high strung and I admit that but I was just worrying myself to death right or wrong, over the engine problems. Always wanted a Jeep and now I can say I had one. Again I really mean no distain to anyone with a 2012. I guess your nerves are better then mine and I hope they solve the problem. It just wasnt for me. I amdit I m paranoid and worry too much and for me that headache is now over and I can say I feel so much better. Life is too short to be unhappy.

Let me add one more thing, which might be of some significance. It took me 6 dodge dealers to find the deal sale car I wanted. (Can you believe I might be hard to deal with?) BUT not one of those dealerships had ANY 2012 Wranglers left on their lot but did have 13's. Also when they took my JK into inventory they puta big sticker on it that said "Not for sale" on the windshield and drove it around back, not to a detailer or anything but a back lot with a chainlink fence around it. My wife said "There trying to get all those off the roads and out of circulation that they can"

LOL remember she lives with me.

...uh - the JK12 jokes really aren't funny. Again - mine is running perfectly. And I'm sure that most of them are too.

Good looking Charger! Looks like you had lots of choices, red, red, or red! I hope you wanted red! LOL! Good luck with the new ride, I hope it serves you well.

BTW, what is the difference between the Pentastar in the Jeep, the Charger, the Caravan, or the ___________ (Fill in the Blank, being as just about everything Chrysler makes with a 6 cyl, has a Pentastar in it!)?
