Good looking Charger! Looks like you had lots of choices, red, red, or red! I hope you wanted red! LOL! Good luck with the new ride, I hope it serves you well.
BTW, what is the difference between the Pentastar in the Jeep, the Charger, the Caravan, or the ___________ (Fill in the Blank, being as just about everything Chrysler makes with a 6 cyl, has a Pentastar in it!)?

According to several others here who for some reason I trust the heads are different in the wrangler verses the charger challenger.
And Ianslide what about what I have said is a joke? I see nothing funny about any of it. Good luck with your Jeep and locating all those numbers your so concerned about in the other thread even though your running great. Nothing funny about any of it. Never has been.

Chris,
Was this not a joke? - My wife said "There trying to get all those off the roads and out of circulation that they can"
And...I just wanted to know when my "born on" date was.
I've heard that all Pentastar heads are the same for all of Chrysler's cars and trucks. Just don't get one of the few bad ones made in Mexico. Most are good!

Again Good Luck.
Oh - okay - are you going to join the Charger Forum to see what problems they are having? I wonder if they are more reliable than a Jeep.
Good luck to you too!

Good luck to you too!
I found this on the internet, it's a list of all the vehicles that currently use the 3.6L Pentastar Engine:
3.6L
2011–present Chrysler 200
2011–present Chrysler 300
2011–present Chrysler Town & Country
2011–present Dodge Avenger
2011–present Dodge Challenger
2011–present Dodge Charger
2011–present Dodge Durango
2011–present Dodge Grand Caravan
2011–present Dodge Journey
2011–present Jeep Grand Cherokee
2011–present Volkswagen Routan
2012–present Fiat Freemont
2012–present Jeep Wrangler
2012–present Lancia Flavia
2012–present Lancia Thema
2012–present Ram Cargo Van
I can't imagine they would all have different heads. I also found an article about Chrysler replacing heads that experienced problems, and while they don't mention any specific models, the articles infers the problem affects more than one model:
Automotive News reports that Chrysler is replacing the cylinder heads on certain Pentastar V6 engines with "more robust" parts. The automaker hasn't detailed the problem behind the replacement, but says that there were around 1,300 vehicles across the country over the past few weeks waiting for replacement parts.
A shortage of replacement cylinder heads left many owners out of their vehicle for a week or more with Chrysler paying for rentals in the interim. The company says it is receiving as many as 500 requests per week for the new cylinder heads. In response, Chrysler supplied its service network with around 3,000 new parts to fill the orders. New Pentastar engines are being built with the revised heads.
All told, the automaker says the issue impacts around 7,500 of the 1.5 million Pentastar engines produced during the past two years. Owners have complained of ticking, stalling and other issues from Pentastar-equipped models, though Chrysler says the problem is the combination of a number of variables. According to the National Highway Traffic Safety Administration, Chrysler has yet to release a technical service bulletin on the issue, though all replacements are being done under warranty.
In fact, this article from Automedia.com, states the only application that utilizes a different component is the Ram Pick-up:
The Pentastar is currently used in a full one-third of all Chrysler vehicles, and rumors persist that it may even enter a Maserati one day. And why not? It already powers everything from Ram and Wrangler to Challenger and Cherokee, with a few Fiats and Lancias thrown in for good measure. It can adjust, too, producing 260hp in the Wrangler and 305hp in the Challenger. It’s greatest feat may be in the Chrysler 300, a 4,000 lb. sedan that achieves 292hp and 25 overall mpg. For the Ram, the only adjustment the Pentastar needed was a new intake manifold. It’s a workhorse engine for a good ‘ol American automaker.

I was averaging 15 mpg. No way to justify that. And as has been often pointed out. I have a warranty. :-)

Feel free to try again, I am just so happy to be rid of it, it is going to take a lot more then that to get to me.
Have a nice day and again enjoy your Jeep.
No - I'm just kidd'n. I hope your new car is dependable. But - you should have considered a Honda or Toyota for dependability. My '98 Toyota 4Runner has never been in the shop!
lol luckily I do not have one of those 667 . I know what your trying to do. And it appears you might be a tad bit jealous that I do not have to deal with this problem anymore. I know would be too. I mean if some rich guy could just throw the Jeep away and I was stuck in mine with no way out saddled with payments and loss of value and loans and financing and oh I get sick even thinking about it. Guess I d have to like it too. I mean what choice would I have? Luckily I am not that guy..

Hey CCUChris
Can you craw under your charger and get us the hand written date off the bottom of your Pentastar ? Wait never mind not enough ground clearance. Also what is your vehicle build date.
Heck they are the same engines.
