2013 430N navigation update???
Guys, going frustration after frustration, while my GPS gets more and more useless because our region is getting bigger by the minute.
The chryslernavigation.com site has been telling me that I have the most up to date version on my 2013 jk 430N since new (august 2013), asking me to wait for an upcoming update that never came in august 2014, then october 2014, then March 2015, then may and now june!!!!! They keep telling me the next update is coming, and then postpone it time and time again.
I tried calling customer service and hang up after 30-45 minutes of waiting to speak to a human being because I automatically get answered by a machine that asks me to wait for the next available representarive. I tried writting to client service 3 times to the. "contact us" email to ask what is taking so long and explain my situation, and no one even bothers to answer my emails!!!!
Anyone can shed some light on this??? Cause I always end-up using my smartphone.

While I never had to deal with customer service I do agree with you the GPS sucks.
It's from Garmin. They were great back in 2003. But both Apple and Google Maps blows them away.
I wish we could just get out phone's map to display on the 430n. But thinking about it now I don't believe the 430n even has the resolution capable to handle anything coming from a phone.
Garmin is a great example of a company that doesn't innovate or even try to keep up with everyone else. Their day is coming.

I know the Garmin stand alone unit that I use, has updates about every quarter. My wife's 2014 Charger has Nav, and it updates automatically at least once every 2 weeks. So my guess is don't blame Garmin, keep after Chrysler for not releasing your updates.
Yeah, will try and find my way to someone influent to share my frustration. We have highways, byways and even neighbourhoods here that were created in 2013 and they are not on my 430N GPS that supposedly have the latest update already in it!!!
Anyways, was just looking to find out if anyone here had similar experience, frustration and even better.... A solution!

I have been fighting with Jeep Customer Service who has maintained that they don't supply map updates, so my having an old map is not their problem. After reminding them that Jeep sold me a navigation system that is now "broken" because the maps are outdated, I was finally able to speak directly with UConnect Customer Service.
UConnect Customer Service admited that they used to provide annual map updates, but that most of their navigation maps are now pretty old, and at least the Customer Service folks have no idea why that is. They confirmed that they are getting numerous complaints from Chrysler vehicle owners, and are forwarding them into their system, but they have no idea if or when this will ever be fixed.
I strongly suggest that you call UConnect Customer Service, (877) 855-8400, and complain.
I strongly suggest that you call Here (Navigation.com) Customer Service, (866) 462-8837, and complain.
I strongly suggest that if you are in the market for a new Jeep and Navigation system, do not buy a Jeep UConnect radio. Buy an aftermarket navigation system from Kenwood or others, that provide regular map updates, and do so at lower cost.

What's the issue with your navigation? I have a 2012 with navigation. I've had zero problems with mine. I use it all the time for directions. And from past experiences owning BMW cars with navigation map updates are *NEVER* free. They always make you pay $200 for any update.

I don't expect the maps to be free. However, I do expect the maps to be available if I am willing to pay to update them. And I am willing to pay to update them.

The issue is that there are entirely new freeway's, interchanges, streets, etc., in my area that are not reflected on the map in my 2013 Jeep (which came with 2012 maps).

I have been dealing with Jeep Customer Service (JCS) on several problems I have had to deal with concerning my 2015 JKUR. Here are a few facts that I have uncovered: (1) When you call JCS, you are not dealing with Jeep personnel, you are dealing with a contractor, who for the most part knows little to nothing about Jeeps. They have a computer in front of them which contains the complete Owner's Manual and that's what they consult to answer your questions. (2) If they are unable to answer your question they forward it to "the technical folks" at Jeep who provide the data they need and the contractor then forwards "the official answer" to you. (3) Despite many attempts, I have never been able to talk directly to a member of the Jeep staff, it's always through the contractor. (4) The 430N GPS system is its own special hell. Jeep will refer you to Garmin, who will tell you they only supply the hardware. For software problems you must contact a subcontractor named NAVTECH who supplies all the maps and updates for the 430N. I wanted to know if I could upload one of the Garmin Topo maps to my 430N. Garmin said they didn't think so, but to contact NAVTECH - who informed me that only NAVTECH products could be uploaded to the 430N. There is 28 gigs of memory to do so - but no product. I could go on here, but I think you get the idea. (5)Here's another "trap" that the JCS staff will try, and that is to refer you to your local dealer for the answer to your question. They didn't know and referred my back to JCS. A real live "do-loop."
