Default 2013 JKUR burnt oil smell

I have 2013 unlimited rubicon and have noticed that when I get on it, I get a burnt oil smell coming through the ventilation. I changed my oil at 500 and just recently at 3000. No spills no visible leaks. Anyone else seen this? It's an auto with 3.73 gears. My 07 rubicon and 2010 unlimited have never done this. I realize its the new motor but this is bizarre. I used Mobil 1 5w20 for the first oil change and went to 5w30 since I live in SW Florida and it rarely gets below 40 deg here. Is this just the new motor getting broken in?

There were some people complaining of this on 2012 models, give it a little more time and it should go away.

You could yank the motor cover to see if there's a leak at the filter. It only takes about 2 seconds and the cover is very easy to reinstall.

I checked all that. I'll give it a few thousand more miles and see if its just some assembly grease or coating that needs to burn off.

I changed mine at about the same intervals as you and now have 5000 miles and never have had any unusual smells. Seems like any oil/lube/grease should have long been burned off.

I have 8000 on mine now, oil changed at 1500 and 5000, no smells. Can you have someone drive behind you?

Check the filter under the cover. Mine was leaking after the 3rd oil change (7xxx) and I noticed it running down the side of my motor. I didn't smell anything but I could easily see a burning oil smell if it somehow you touched a manifold or something

Mine did that and it was the oil filter canister leaking.
