I'm eagerly looking to get back to the Jeep fold after selling my CJ7 a few years back.

I've been looking at the new 2014s and have more or less settled on what I want. Unfortunately the dealer does not have this on the lot, but has located one almost exactly to my requirements at another dealership a few hundred miles away. The one exception is the Deep Tinted Windows (sunscreen?) option. I'm not sure I want this.

How deep of a tint are we talking here? Is it just the glass or will it also be the plastic windows on the soft top too? The vehicle is in transit to the other dealer so I can't get pictures for a few days.

Can anyone clarify/post pictures of this option?

You dif want the dark tint. My bro didn't get it at first and it was like a fishbowl. He got em tinted before we left dealer lot. Its not hard to see out of em at all

 

X2 on the dark tint. Looks way better, and gives more security.

 

The soft top windows will be tinted. The factory tint is around 30%. The front doors will not be tinted. Jeeps lists the clear glass as "tinted" and the dark glass "deep tinted". I don't have a good picture of my Jeep to show how dark it is. After tinting the fronts to 30% it makes all the windows look dark in pictures. This picture is from the day I purchased the JK in 2009. The front windows weren't tinted yet, but the pic makes all the windows look darker than they really are.

Agreed, deep tint is a good thing to have, it looks nicer and give a bit more privacy/security along with making it cooler inside. The factory deep tint will be on the hardtop and soft top windows as well as the rear doors if it's an Unlimited. The hardtop could be tinted by a shop, but the soft top you would be stuck with clear windows unless you get replacement ones.

 

I had another layer of 5% tint on top of factory deep tint can't see in love it

 

I went with 20% on top of factory. I ordered the tint. Off eBay it's already pre cut for your windows $26 you can't beat that .
