Default 2014 JK Oil Pressure Sensor HELP

Over the weekend I replaced the dreaded oil filter housing on my 2014 JK. I installed the OEM part that I bought from my dealer, the install went relatively smooth and if I'm being honest I was a little impressed with myself. I drove home from my friends garage no problems at all, you could feel the improved drive. The only issue I'm having is the CEL is still on shooting the same code as before and the oil pressure sensor on the dash is reading 98 PSI constantly whether I'm idling or riding at 65 on the highway. I was wondering if anyone has had this similar problem in the past? If so how did you fix it or did it work itself out. I have only driven about 35 miles/50 minutes since finishing up the install.

It sounds like the sensor on the new housing is bad which would really stink. Or even worse, did I forget to plug the wiring harness in all the way? If that's the case would it even show 98 PSI or would it show an error. My hope is that it will work itself out but I have doubts on that. I haven't cleared the code yet, that's on my list to do tonight.

Thank you!

I have almost same issue. Changed oil approx10 days ago.. No problem with task. Upon reproving after oil change pressure stays at 99 psi from starting engine through normal driving. Sometimes pressure will go down to around 75psi at idle and not in gear, but immediately goes back to 99psi. Changed oil again in hopes that original oil of 10 days ago ??? One day old oil change and still it stays at 99psi mostly and rarely goes down to about 70psi. It used to idle at approx. 40-50 psi and only 99 psi at startup ???

So OP was talking about having changed the oil filter housing and oil pressure sensor. Sounds like you're experiencing issues just after a normal oil change. Just to be clear, you have not replaced the oil pressure sensor have you? It does seem somewhat common that this issue with the sensor arises not long after an oil change for whatever reason. It is also a common issue, especially on the 14/15's it seems.

Hey Brendan, did you ever get the code to turn off and what did you ended up doing next? I’m currently running into this same exact problem, but dreading taking everything apart to change out the oil pressure sensor again lol
