2014 Rubicon X Owner's Manuals

Hey Everyone,

I just picked up my 2014 Rubicon X Unlimited and the dealer said they lost my owners manual and the spare set of keys. The salesman said "Just go on the web-site and print a owner's manual off!" I don't think I should have to be carrying a binder to figure out how to run my vehicle.

My question is, can anyone send a picture of what manuals they got with theirs? I don't want some generic POS manuals that they are going to try and send me. Also, do they come in a cover? I have the 730N Navigation that I am sure comes with it's own manual itself. Originally they said the "other key fob", now they are saying it is just a key with no fob. I think I am getting the "huclebuck".

Before I go nuts on them, I want to know what everyone else has.

Thanks,

King Con

I did not get one with my 2012. I hate clutter, so I gladly downloaded a copy into iBooks on my iPad. I am perfectly happy with it.

My Rubi X came with 2 keys, both with the attached fob's. I got a cd of the owners manual, but the salesman said to call Jeep and they would send me a printed copy. I *think* I did get a manual just for the 730N, too.

Jeep will send you a traditional owners manual. You have to request it. I went through this with my Grand Cherokee. I think I had to mail a postcard into Jeep requesting the owners manual, or I submitted a request on the Jeep website. I cannot remember what I did.

Jeep will send one owners manual for no charge.

Correct on the manual. You have a CD, can download it in PDF from the website, or request a real one.

Make them get you a new key!!! You absolutely get two and they are silly expensive (which is probably why they are trying to avoid eating the cost). If they won't, call Chrysler. Total BS if you ask me.

I contacted Chrysler and they mailed me an owner's manual. Warning though, it weighs about 10 lbs!

I also just purchased the 2014 Rubicon X. I got two keys with fobs and an owners manual. The manual came in a jeep bag with the CD.

spend that kind of money they should give you everything you have coming. Ie both sets of keys and CD manual etc

Just call Jeep Chrysler, give them your vin # & they will send you a printed owners manual. The cd is all that comes with it.

Unless they have changed things, the only way you can have a key made is if you have two good, programmed keys. Without two good, programmed keys you cannot have a locksmith make you a key. You must then go to dealer. And they typically charge $150-200 to make a key.

INSIST on the second key. Read your owners manual (online copy is fine) on making a second key and you will find what I'm writing about.

Once you have two good, programmed keys, make a third key using the procedure in the owners manual to program it. About $35 or so for blank and locksmith. Now, if you lose a key, you can still avoid the dealer's outrageous fee.
