Default 2014 stalled out, now no crank or start

2014 JK that we have had no issues with since purchase. Today after a series of trips, I got back in, started it, it ran for perhaps 3 seconds then stalled. Repeated start cycle once, same stalls out after perhaps a second or two running. Now does not crank, although dash lights up. No warning lights on dash. Ran code check via the procedure and the odometer display shows no codes. Battery checks out fine, inspection under hood finds nothing amiss. Only thing I notice is that normally you can hear a slight "whirr" when you turn key on (fuel pump?)...that noise is silent now.

Any suggestions on what to check? At this point I'm thinking fuel pump...but if that it should crank but perhaps not run.

Thanks for any guidance. Next step is to either get it to show with a tow or throw a fuel pump on and see what that does.

The starting and stopping after a couple seconds immediately made me think of the WCM (wireless control module) and security killing it, though I don't know if after a few attempts of that if it will stop it from cranking altogether or not. On a lark, is it the same reaction if you try to use a different key? If the fuel pump died the engine should still crank in an effort to start, it just wouldn't start due to lack of fuel being delivered.

Good suggestion and I thank you for it. I have tried our spare key set. Same result = no crank, no "whirr" noise, and of course no start. Dash lights up normally and shows no warning lights. Battery is fully charged.

One updated detail: Wife informs me that a few days ago she found mouse nesting materials in glove box. So....that may point to a rodent chewed wire somewhere...oh joy!

My 2012 had some similar symptoms. It was a bad starter. It was stuck halfway out, halfway in. At first I changed the battery thinking it could be a bad one, but turned out to be the starter.

ISSUE RESOLVED. My vehicle had an issue with the key & security system. Found two helpful YouTube videos which I will link as it may help someone. All I did was pull the M13 20 amp fuse out for 30 seconds, replace, and the vehicle starts and runs fine.

Thank you for following up on this and linking the videos. My hunch was that security system but I've never had to dig into those issues before so this is something I need to keep in mind for future reference.

For folks that may click on this thread based on the title. This may be helpful:

Another useful tool I found was that you can manipulate the ignition key and the odometer window will display any fault/error codes. No OBD code reader needed. Although this did not lead to a resolution in this case, knowing there were no codes pointed me back to the security system. You can find a list of the OBD codes online for your model Jeep.
