I can't find any info or complaints about this but it's driving me nuts. My 2015 JKU Sport soft top has a new feature that won't allow it to sit deep in the bed. There is a spring type contraption that keeps the folded top above the walls of the bed. You can push SH it down but it just bounces back up. Does anybody know why this is? What it is? And other than getting an older top, do I have an option to remove this feature? Thanks.

The top on my 15 doesn't bounce... Not sure what you mean...

The bounce isn't bad. But it doesn't sit in the back. It sits higher than my 2002. If o wanted to put a cover on it it wouldn't be possible.

I'm trying to research this change. Here is a pic of the new knuckle that I think is the culprit.

Are you using the provided straps to secure it when it's folded back like that? They keep mine in place just fine.

Which top did you get. I've noticed that the premium top sits taller than the standard soft top due to the thicker fabric, also without using the little retaining straps it tends too bounce a little while driving.

It's the standard top. The problem isn't bouncing I guess, as much as it sits 3+ inches higher. (I didn't use the best title for my post)
I have to assume the cover that they make won't work on the 2015 due to this. The change just seems odd to me.
I'll keep hunting for a solution.

It does indeed sit higher in the tub. I don't really care so long as it's lower than the spare tire though. I don't even notice mine when I'm using the mirrors.

Unfortunately it sits higher than the spare. A few inches in fact. They are stock so not big but still I'm not liking how it sits. I'll have to spend some time with it.
