Default 2016 JKU - Electrical Bug?

Hi all - 2016 JKU here. I've noticed in the past few days while driving, that intermittently the electrical will cut out on the gauges (as in they drop to 0) and stereo for a few seconds and then come back on. At this point, all the warning lights will be light up for a moment and then turn off, except the traction control. Vehicle continues to drive.

Any ideas? It's a pretty vague question I'm sure but this is what I'm working with at the moment.

Thanks in advance!

First place to look is the battery health and the health of the electrical connections at the battery. A flaky battery or bad connection can cause the gages to do strange things.

Lightbulb Get an enhanced scanner...

See link below in sig. Very affordable, has many other uses, and it will pay for itself. JScan is my current favorite but I use them all. I'm virtually 100% certain there will be a code(s) that can help you through the process of elimination. Suggest writing down existing codes, clear all of them, then see what comes back. You can even post codes here and we'll help.

The battery connections Rob mentioned above are always a good start with electrical problems, but since the engine and traction control have no symptoms it makes me think the problem is likely downstrean the battery. In any case, checking and cleaning battery terms first is a good plan.

JScan should be a mandatory purchase.... I agree. and of course a solid reliable meter. pays for itself!

Thanks all - I may have bigger issues now. Got pulled over last night for the wheels extending beyond the fender flares last night as well as the uncovered light bars. They are steel aftermarket ones that are fairly skinny + wide wheels which came with the vehicle (we just bought it like 2 weeks ago). Now we are talking with dealer about selling us an illegal vehicle. It was already going back to the dealer to have them address the leaking shock issue and the electrical bug. And now this. At least the sheriff was cool and I didn't get a ticket or anything.
