285/70 17 without lift?
I know there are a million wheel/tire threads on here, but I can't find exactly what I'm looking for, so please bear with me.
My Sahara has 255/75 17s and I want a much more aggressive tire for the Montana winter. I'm thinking 285/70 17s, but I don't know if I'd need to lift it to make those work. Can I run these stock, or would 265/70s be better?
Thanks in advance.

Click my link below to see my 285/70LT17 mud tires with no lift and no rubbing. Just remember that whatever wheel you use it should have less than the factory 45mms of backspacing. My wheels have 25mm for your reference.
Very nice rig. What kind of info can you give on those rims?

I saw the response above, but i dunno what 45mm's of backspacing would do for me *L* I really hope for clarification on that.
Has anyone mounted larger than 255/75-17's on the factory wheels?
If so, what size?
Who really shot Kennedy?
Are there any rubbing issues at full articulation?
Do they protrude from the fenders? (prolly not, but i had to ask)
Do you have photos?
Can you please post them?
I am running 285/75 16's BFG A/T on the stock rims. I have no issues on road with normal driving, i have heard a little rubbing when backing and wheels at full turn but it doesnt sound like its hitting anything other than the plastic air dam.
I would not recommend any off roading without at least a spacer lift in the front.

why not just get a set of 265/70/17's or similar with a better tread pattern, something more agressive? Then there is no worries of rub on or off road, and you gain the added traction, better offroad performance, with no worries of damage? Just a thought.
(mostly because thats what im thinking of doing!)
