Quote: Prob a stupid question but, could I run a 285/75R16 tire on the stock 16" steel rims? I do have 1.5" wheel spacers.
I just installed a set of 285/75/16's on stock 16" steelies and wheeled all day with no issues. I have a '12 JK 2dr, no lift/leveling kit and no spacers. Might rub at full articulation but for the light-to-moderate stuff, this set-up works great.

Good luck!

Good thread.....I'm VERY close toward pulling the trigger on 305/70/16 duratracs myself.
My new wheels will have 4.75" BS.

If my thinking is correct that's 1.5" more BS than stock...and the tires are 2" wider total, which is 1" per side.
So that means my inside tire wall will be actually .5" further away from suspension parts than with stock wheels/tires correct. So no rubbing issues!

Or am I missing something???

Just remember, bigger tires such as the 305's are going to suck driving with 3:21 gears. I have 285/70/17 with 3:21's and a 6 spd and can feel the difference.

Im getting ready to upgrade tires on my stock 11 sport. I think im going to go with the BF Goodrich t/a ko 285/75r16 on the stock rims. Im glad to see that they will fit but looking around here ill probably wanna get spacers. So its probably smart to go with 1.5 '' spacers?

Really starting to like the look of the stock steel wheels with larger off road tires.

^ This has been my experience on a 2012 2dr Sport with stock suspension.
