If one of you has the availability of a 2dr and a 4dr could you check to see if the tap light in the 2dr soundbar will fit in the 4dr soundbar? I want to be able to turn on the soundbar light without cranking the dash lights and MyGig...

I've seen a discussion about adding a "tap" light to the front (or two door), but I didn't find it in a quick search...

I had a Grand Cherokee that did this for the front, so I know it can be done.
But I think the wiring is different, so it won't work by just buying a "tap" light and putting it in, with out some additional wiring...

As I'm typing this I am realizing I'm not helping!!!

 

Bump for the great idea. Have you tried swapping the cargo light for the sound bar light? I may try that this week. If it works I'll re-post, then go buy another tap light to replace the rear.

 

The question seems to imply there's a tap light in the 2-door sound bar. This is not the case.

Didn't know that. I think I'll try to swap the rear cargo light with the sound bar light tonight. If that works I'll have to order a new light for the cargo area.

 

I didn't know that either... if you do get a chance to try let me know. I think this is a missed nicety on Jeeps part - all lights in most cars are tap lights and the lens looks like the same lens so it may work.
