I just got a 2009 sahara 6 speed. I have noticed that when i shift into 2nd that when putting it into second that the gears grind when the clutch is fully depressed. I have done some research and it seems that many older jeeps have had the same problem and it could be the synchronizer. The problem seems to go away after driving for a little while.
Can anyone confirm this and if i do have to have the transmission serviced, is there anything i should have done to it while the tranny is off?

 

I have a 2009 also and does the same thing going into 2nd also every once in a while I wouldn't worry to much about it I think a lot of people have the same issue but once it's warmed up it pretty much doesn't happen

 

Yea but it just sounds awful and it occasionally pops out of second as soon as i put it in. My dad bought a warranty that says it covers everything. I figure if its covered then i mind as well. I noticed if i shift into 2nd earlier then it doesnt do it as bad but i still do not like the fact that while i trying to shift it starts to grind. Its an awful sound and makes me look like an idiot.
