Default 3rd BRAKE LIGHT

Just wondering if anyone has had any issues where they live if you remove the 3rd brake light. I am trying to find out in utah if i will have any state inspection issues if i move my spare inside and get rid of the 3rd brake light and attachments. Appreciate any comments..

my experience with this subject is that because it is removable and not embedded into something like a normal vehicle, the law is much less likely to bother you about it.

I've had my light off for 4 months or so now and haven’t had a problem with the law....

My front license plate was another story. Had it off for less then a week and got a ticket

All clear in AZ.

If your state has a "Light Bulb" inspection you will fail.

Default Brake light

I took mine off about 3 weeks ago because of my new rear bumper and I have yet to be bothered. I would keep it stored away just in case you ever did have to put it on

i have a 92 wrangler and in the summers i drive with no doors, no mirrors and no front tag everywhere in frederick and surrounding areas without ever being bothered. I would remove it, if you get any issues, you can put it back on just as easy.

looks to me like you aren't required to have a third, high mount, stop light in utah. But read the Utah Code;
Title: 41 (motor vehicle)
Chapter: 6a (traffic code)
Section: 1604 (Motor vehicle head lamp, tail lamps, stop lamps, and other lamps -- Requirements)

http://le.utah.gov/~code/TITLE41/htm/41_06a160400.htm

ah the sweet glory of the interwebs...

I thought having a 3rd brake light was like a bonus thing for new vehicles...as long as you have the normal right and left tail lights,brake light,reverse lights you are legal..
