Doing the same in 1st gear.....let out the clutch, let the engine idle it down the road, but when I mash the pedal, there's good power all through the low (below 1800) RPM's. I understand about it being a factor of 1st gear vs 2nd and lower gears having more low-end power and all.......I guess I'm confused at why don't I get any pep in 2nd gear until I break that 1800 RPM? And it's instant...not like it builds up to it.
I think I follow you better now. The programmer may be your best bet then. The reason it lags may be something built into the engine's program. I know that mine has a flat spot in the power band between 1500 and 2000 rpms. I figured it was just because it was the 3.8L. I thought it was something that they improved or remedied with the 3.6L. I did a superchips flash paq on mine, it eliminated pedal lag and was useful to adjust my speedometer for my gears and tires, and shut off my tpms. Other than that it did nothing for that flat spot. For mine if I lug it in a higher gear it will be flat till it hits about 2k then it takes off. If I drop a gear it will take off right away as well.
As mentioned by another poster they did the flash paq and it worked. May be it is something that got remedied for the 3.6L. Keep us posted.

Yes it is a wear item but all you have to do is remember a few easy things and it can last a very long time.
I want to see you get a clutch to last 100K living in the NYC area. I probably shift more times in a day than you do in a month. I've been driving a stick for 42 yrs and have yet to have one last 100K.
