Actually, mine did the same thing about a week ago. I was driving in very slow traffic and it went on. Thought for sure I caught a nail or something because when I looked through the rearview mirror the right rear side of my Jeep was low. Then I realized that the street was extremly low on that side and because we were moving at a crawl it must have triggered the sensor.

Anyone know if these things also work off some type of mecury leveling switch as well as pressure?

Got home and checked all 5 and everything was cool. Haven't seen it on since

No, they are operated by air pressure. The sensor in the wheels reads the pressure and sends a signal to the pick up that in turn sends the signal to the computer letting it know to turn the light on. Alot of times, when it starts cooling off or in winter, they'll come on when it's cold and go off when it warms up (difference in temps changes the pressure). I don't know what happened in your case, but it had nothing to do with the slope of the road.

For the other guy that posted about the spare, there is no sensor on the spare tire mount for monitoring air pressure in the spare, only the four wheels/tires, that are bolted to the corners.

Sorry for the highjack (heres a beer) and the silly question, but, how does the sensor connect to the tire to take the pressure reading. I ask this because when I swapped the spare with a flat, I didnt see any wire or tubing that might carry the reading.

It's a wireless sensor connected the stem.

Yes, it's incorporated into the valve stem and the pick up is on the hub or knuckle.

I had mine come on around Christmas for no reason too. All tire where at 37 psi. I was driving down the highway a good 15 minutes when the light came on. Haven't had the problem since. It's probably the spare not transmitting due to the fact it's not rotating.

So that sybol is supposed to be a butt crack? I thought it was cleavage.

Either is fine, as long as it's the female variety.

I've had this light go on for no reason too. This was probably 5 months ago and never had the problem since. You should be fine.
