Default About time for new tires - any 'stock size' recommendations?

It's about time to replace my stock Rubicon tires. They have been pretty well beat up from a lot of desert driving - not sand but sharp rocks. I'm not looking to go larger or taller. I'm happy with the stock size. The Jeep is our daily driver so I want something decent for off road but also good on the pavement. I'm just wondering if there is anything out there that might be comparable to the tires that came with the Rubicon...or should I just replace them with the same tires. A friend mentioned the Toyo Open Country M/T. Any suggestions?

I am happy with my KM2 tires. Just find a size that fits your rims and you are happy with.

Tires seem to be pretty subjective depending on your driving. But if you were happy with your MTR tires then stay with them.

Smile goodyear

well i had the same problem, i loved the km2's but i wanted something that would be a little more puncture resistant. so, i got a set of 5 goodyear wrangler MT/R's
they have kevlar enforced sidewalls with wrap around tread. love them. the ride has actually gotten a lot better, smoother, more quiet. i got the exact same size as stock km2's, 275/75/R17, and they are on stock rubicon 17" rims.

all the local places around here wanted to charge me nearly $2000 for a set of 5.

i picked some up from DiscountTires.com shipped to my door for $1100 and paid $100 to have them mounted and balanced.

Just throwing my 2 cents in.

I'll second the Toyo Open Country. They are quiet and have great off road traction. Be sure to get them in the LT size and not the P metric size, there is about 5/32" more tread on the LT tires.

Never got to try them, but the Firestone Destination MTs get really good reviews, and come in 255/75/17 Load C.

I ended up getting Wrangler SRAs again. 600 for the tires, mounted, balanced, etc. The jeep rides pretty good again.

I would go goodyear MT/Rs,silent armours or bridgestone Revo2 in 255/75/17 .
