Exclamation ABS Module

2014 JKU 127000 miles. Codes and service department say the 68145835AE ABS Control module on my vehicle has failed. I have paid two different parts departments and had them refund my money saying they have received no updates from Mopar regarding the part being on national backorder with no information about future stock or

availability. Both parts departments had them listed for $656.00 plus a $70 refundable core charge. I have seen them listed on Amazon for about $1200.00. But do not recognize the sellers. There are a couple on eBay for over $1200 but they ship from China. No thanks. I'm pretty sure the part is made in China. Question? How is Amazon able to get stock when no one else in the entire world can get stock?
Losing ABS and Traction control may not be quite as dangerous as exploding airbags but I'll wager a law suit is inevitable if someone is injured or worse because failure of those two functions because of lack of factory support to provide access to replace the failed part. And a class action could be filed. I am livid about this. My last vehicle a Toyota Land Cruiser had ABS I had it for over 20 years before a drunk hit me and totaled it. I destinctly remember more than a couple of occasions where the ABS saved me from collision. I do not have that now and if it's raining I will not allow my family to drive the Jeep. I could not even sell it with the 3 warning lights on. Pathetic product and pathetic Stellantis.

I did a quick search of 68145835AE and found plenty online in stock for under $700. But that part is for the export version of the 2014 JKU. When I look it up, it shows me 68259556AD is the correct part, and I found several online for under $300, some for just over $200.

So, do you have an export version of the JKU?

There are plenty of Mopar dealer parts departments on line that will show the part but when you try to pay your cart it will say there are none available. I'm sorry I dont believe you found any NEW OEM part for under $300.

Below is the statement from a dealer I tried to order from"Thank you for your recent order with us. Regrettably, we must inform you that your order has been canceled, and the funds have been refunded to your account.

The part you requested is currently on national backorder with no confirmed release date, and unfortunately, we are unable to obtain it at this time. We sincerely apologize for any inconvenience this may cause."

I have an email pending to the Stellantis National Mopar parts supply chain vice president. He has promised an answer next week.

The parts dept at any dealership can do a LOCATE on DealerConnect.. They select the miles away from them.. It will show any dealership that should have it in stock. YOU should GET the name and phone number and Call that dealership and ask to purchase. (many times N/ BO parts will not be sold at a discount to another dealership; however, retail sales do get done. Just a tip you might get lucky and find a dealership with one and willing to sell at their price.
BTW the National parts guy still cannot push a vendor on the orders in their production schedule; and being an older model year there might not be a vendor that is producing at this time..He can just ask for a favor if there is a Vendor..
Frankly. I would be searching salvage yards and or LKQ.

I've had the ABS light come on, with all the associated lights, twice.
Each time, the code that came on (C2200) had one fix in the book: replace the module due to internal failure.

Before I spent the money on a new module, I thought I'd clean the harness connectors with DeOxit, and clean the ground point.
That fixed it for a few years.
The next time it came on, the previous steps didn't work. So, I did something different.
I noticed when I cleared the code, it would stay off until I drove the Jeep more than a few mph, then it would come back.
A search for my symptoms revealed what I thought would be a "too good to be true" simple fix.
Here's what worked:
Get the Jeep to an isolated road or parking lot.
Have one rear wheel on pavement, and the other rear wheel on dirt.
Clear the ABS code.
Punch the throttle so the wheel on the dirt spins to the point of traction control activation, before the Jeep hits a few mph. This will "reset" something in the ABS module before the code can reappear.
It worked for a lot of people in my search results, and it worked for me.
The ABS code and associated lights have not come back on since. That was a year or so ago.

Give this a try before spending any money.

I can guarantee they do not have them in stock, no one does at this time...

I've been needing this part for over a year, I call the dealership every 4 months to see if 68259556AD is available yet and every time I get that the part is under Engineering Review

My corporate inquiry at Stellantis came thru as I now have a new ABS Module inbound among the 40 being released next week. Ironically after all the research and effort to acquire a new one it may be I won't need it. After my post here I decided to try Deoxit D5 contact cleaner on the multi connector wiring harness that attaches directly to the
ABS control module. I repair vintage guitar tube amps and over the years a little Deoxit has cured many problems. I sprayed the cleaner liberally on both sides. After reattaching and starting the Jeep I noticed the warning lights would not come on for about 10 seconds after the Jeep was started. This continued for over a week. Now the hoo doo part. 3 days ago I did a thorough vacuum of the interior. after removing the mats I noticed not to my surprise that one side of the carpet under the mats was pretty moist after all the rain we have had here in Atlanta. So i took all the mats out turned on the AC full blast and let the car run for about 30 minutes to try to suck out some of the wet. When I entered the car all the warning lights were off and have not returned. I am of course skeptical but my brother says dont look a gift horse in the mouth. I think I will keep the new one for a while just for insurance.
