I did manage to pull off this crawl with stock setup. Admittedly there were times lockers would have helped and made the transitions a lot smoother...

I have the LSD in the rear, and added an Aussie locker (lunchbox style) in the front D30. Although it's a little clicky when I turn tight (and feels like I lost a little turning radius), I don't mind it on the street and it made a huge difference in my trail abilities. It was about $250 and I did the work myself, and I'm really no mechanic at all.

You'll be happy with the truetracs, quality traction devices. If you are going to source them yourself, I think the part numbers are:

912A585 - Front D30 - $415
913A589 - Rear D44 - $510

Seems the prices jumped recently, that's like $75 higher than the last time I checked them on Summits website.

16K miles, that is aweful and way too common. Why is that not covered under the power train warrany?

I re-geared the Jeep. I talked to the dealer and they said that FCA would not replace a differential that was apart and now has non OEM parts in it. I have Yukon gears, master install kit with new bearings and Ten Factory shafts. The only thing of theirs left was that LSD casting. So I was not going to pay a dealer $1000 to replace junk with junk. And if I had a half a brain I would have tossed that pile of scrap a year and a half ago when I geared it... but I thought it worked well enough that I would leave it be for a few years. I was wrong.
