The 2 softtops that I'm interested in BOTH INCLUDE THE HARDWARE!

The Bestop supertop previously mentioned is offered at $764 (plus $50 shipping) by Quadratech and my local authorized distributor said they would match that price. This top comes with a 2 year warranty.

The Mopar top (it's suspected that many of these are made by Bestop) is much more expensive and only comes with a 1 year warranty.

Seems to me, it's a no-brainer to go with the Bestop Supertop.

I've been e-mailing with Bestop and asked them what material the top was made of. Below is a fragment of their response... I'm still asking them questions about the Bestop fabric... will post back when I have more info:

Steve,
The Supertop for the JK are not made of the sailcloth, the factory
top is.

So that may be a deciding factor. Sail cloth is typically much quieter.

Possibly... but then $764 vs. $1690 are also considerations.

Thumbs down What kind softop top to buy

I just got a Jk Supertop and it sucks. I have had it for a month and it leaks around the windshield. The weather stripping is too short. The Bestop people admited it to be a faulty design and that I was not the only one out there that had the problem. If I knew now what I didn't know then I wouldn't have gotten it. Don't get the Bestop Supertop.

I have a buddy who bought the "dual top" option. He never uses his soft top because he built his own hard top puller and can easily put his hard top back on. He suggested to me that I save my money and just make it easy to take/put the hard top off and on.

I took his advise and built my own hard top puller.

Spartacus_33 I'll have a Tan factory soft top, new in the box, available at the end of the month...

Long story short, I have a new Sunrider off my 01 TJ that I'm swapping for a an 07 JK from a friend.. He couldn't get rid of his and I can't get rid of mine.. He also has an 01 TJ so he can use my old soft top on that jeep.

I figured I'd have a better chance of getting rid of an 07 factory top than my )1 Sunrider one..

Confused yet

Send me a private message if you're interested in working something out..

I must not have made myself clear... sorry... I'm not interested in buying a soft top, since I can now quickly and easily remove and install my hard top. Good luck to you.
