Thumbs down Air bag Sensor light and dinging

Ok: Here ia another @#%@$! light and dinging going on for no reason on a 2007 Rubicon 4 door. I will check all harnesses under the seats but it looks like from previous postings, this may be a clockspring deal in the steering column? I hope not, 500.00 is pretty steep for a repair not covered as I am 500 miles over the warranty.

Any other thoughts out there. I think jeep needs to come clean on this. I only have 41,000 miles on this vehicle.

Mine did the same thing on the way to and from work the other day. I thought is was the clockspring, but my horn and cruise still worked

I did pull my carpet and replace it last weekend, so I went under the seats and pushed on every connection I saw. None seem loose, but it has been fine since then.....fingers crossed.

Is there a fuse that I can pull and replace in case that is the cause? Tried pulling battery cable, tried resetting computer and also looked for a trouble code but did not find one trouble code.

Guys, we all need to write the nhtsb so we can get a recall going. The more replies they get, the more they will know this is a serious and very common issue affecting thousands.

write them:

NHTSA Headquarters
1200 New Jersey Avenue, SE
West Building
Washington, DC 20590

give them your model jeep and a descreiption of the common clock spring airbag light problem.

thanks jason

Mine just started yesterday. 2007 Sport with 78000 on it. But the funny thing is that it only happens when I turn left the the light goes back off till I turn left again.

I have heard the tj had this issue in a few cases. Once mine went out i looked everywhere for solutions. There is a lot of material to read on this tiny little part causing huge wallet depletion as well as a migraine from the incessant ding
