I got one but only for the road salt in the winter up here helps keeps the paint chips to a minimum

Yep, I installed one and I think it may deflect bugs onto the windshield. I honestly think it's worse than without. I guess it boils down to if you like the look of it or not. Seems to have not useful purpose otherwise.
