Default Air Dam

So I removed the factory air dam or splash guard and now my hood flaps like crazy!(never did before) My question to you guys is how the hell do I get those retainers back in??? I want to use the factory dam for now until I get my bumper but it seems like the retainer is bigger than the hole it came out of. Any help is greatly appreciated!

Are your retainers 2 part fasteners, one inside the other?

Just remove the spring on the hood, this will pretty much stop the hood flutter.

Have you tried to insert them with the center part pulled out about a quarter inch?

All I can say then is, give them a good shove. If they are the ones that came out, they will go back in.
