Default Air Temp Sensor

So, my check engine light has been on, and I got it diagnosed at Autozone and they said the fault was associated with the Air Temp Sensor. I had them just reset the fault/code (on the off chance it was just a random fluke), but it's back. I want to remove it and see if it's just dirty, or what, however, I've been unable to get the plug off it to get a socket on it. The wire plug comes off no problem, however the plug actually attached to the sensor won't budge. Is there a specific release I'm not seeing? Or is it just stubborn? And help would be appreciated.

I have a 2009 JK Rubicon 4-door

I haven't taken mine off, but it doesn't sound like a wrench is required.

From the service manual:

1. Disconnect electrical connector from IAT sensor.
2. Clean dirt from IAT sensor base.
3. Pull up on IAT sensor while rotating for removal.
4. Check condition of sensor O-ring.

What was the code? The trouble could be any of several things.

Thanks, I'll give it a try. I don't remember the fault code, it was a little while ago, I can always have reanalyzed.
