Default Alert Chime

I have a 2013 Jeep Wrangler Sport 2-dr. VERY basic...no power windows or locks, etc. Last weekend, I removed the driver's door while I was adding a Rough Country MLC-6 (sPOD knock-off). It works beautifully. When I wired in my foglights, I disconnected them from the factory switch and wired directly to the MLC-6. When I completed the project, I put the door back on and plugged it in. The Jeep immediately started chiming...light the headlights were left on or the keys were in the ignition. Every time I open the door, it chimes until I start the Jeep. The chime ends when the engine is running. But when I shut off the engine, the Jeep chimes again immediately...as if the lights are on or the key is in the ignition.

Any ideas what the cause is? How can I stop this? Does it have anything to do with the fact that I have no fog lights connected to the factory harness?

When in doubt think back to the last thing you did before the issue began. Then perhaps backtrack, undo what you did until it's gone.
That chime is a major irritant, ruddy door opens and the noise starts 😡, I'd really like to meet the idiot who come up with that on a dark night!
When I want the door open, I use a screwdriver /key to flick the latch to trick the car into thinking the door is shut. Just have to remember to pull the inside handle before slamming the door!
