No, if a tie rod or drag link was just slightly bent, they could adjust the length to compensate and get it back into alignment. Since the stock tie rod is has some bends in it from the factory, it wouldn't be hard for this to get bent and it not be noticable to the naked eye. You can make these adjustments yourself and save the $$ on the alignment.

I know this is an old thread but i didnt want to start a new one when there was some info here already. I noticed that my steering wheel is out of center a bit, maybe 5-10 degrees left. I dont know if i did this from offroading or if it was just a bit out from the factory. Either way, is it easy for me to fix myself? How would i do that? If its a big deal, i'll just leave it, because it is barely noticeable, and there is no shimmy or shake on the highway, so i doubt I need a full 4 wheel alignment.

Check out the bottom(step 51) of WOL's write up on the 2.5 Teraflex BB. He explains how to center the steering wheel. Its very simple to do.

If you center your own steering be sure to re-torque the two bolts to correct spec or the wheel over time will start to move off center again. I "think" 36 ft lbs is correct.

If you dont mind spending the money, you can also go to Firestone and get the lifetime alignment and or tire rotation/balance. Depending on how long you keep you jeep it will pay for itself in no time esp. when you don't have the time or dont feel like rolling around 5 35" tires. Just dont forget to check your tire pressure (they like to fillem up to 35 psi) and spacers if you have them.

They'll do an alignment on a lifted vehicle? ...cool. Merchant's Tire won't :(
