Default All Doors Won't Lock but will Unlock

Hi,
My son and I both own JKs. My son is having an issue with his 2015 JKU Rubicon where he can't lock his doors with the key fob or the power switches. He can hear a sound like they want to lock but they don't. He has to hand lock each door. When they are locked the key fob will set the alarm and it will also unlock the doors. We have checked the fuse and reset the vehicle by disconnecting the battery for 10 minutes but that didn't do anything. I can't seem to find anything similar to this problem online. I did see one video on YouTube that the guy was having the same issue. But his comments were turned off so no responses. I saw another video where they guy replaced the passenger door lock switch. He said it was the master. But this was a Cherokee. I can't find anything online if the Wrangler has a master door lock switch. My son does take his doors off on occasion but hasn't in months since it is winter in Colorado. Any suggestions would be appreciated. Thanks!

When mine does that I leave the drivers door open and lock with FOB then close door. Then it goes back to working again. This is the reason I want to build a $55000 stretched CJ7 with coilovers, AC and Chev V8 or Cummins 2.8. Get away from all this electric crap.

Default Doors will unlock but not lock

MarkC77, did you ever resolve your son’s issues? I’m having the same problems.

my 2017 Jeep Wrangler will allow me to unlock (using key FOB or through door controls); however, I am unable to lock. The jeep thinks I’ve locked (lights blink, horn beeps, alarm activates) but doesn’t lock.

Any advice would be greatly appreciated.

Thank you!

did you resolve your son’s issue? I’m having the same problem with my 2017 wrangler. I’ve changed the fuse; just had the battery replaced. I’ve tried the tricks to reset the BCM. Nothing seems to be working.

any advice would be greatly appreciated.

thank you!
