Default Another tire thread

So my wife just told me the other day that I could start looking into getting some new tires. Right I have the sport 16's. I'm going to get some of the 17in jeep wheels, I was just wondering if I could put 33s on the rims without any rubbing and no lift(yet). Iv been looking and reading on here but couldn't really find anything. Or I'm just to stupid to understand it all. Any opinions or advice?

So many threads about this.. But YES you can get 33's on a stock suspension. You can get some minor "plastic rub", but that is easy to fix in 2 min with a sharp knife.
Go get them!

PS: You will also need 1.5" spacers, if you get 17" stock Jeep rims. Get some aftermarket rims with the right backspacing, and you will be fine without spacers.
If you decide to go with stock Jeep rims, make sure to buy some QUALITY spacers. Not the cheapy ones from PepBoys or similar.....

I actually read quite a few, kinda got tired of reading and I'm an idiot when it comes to this kinda stuff. What do the spacers do exactly?

They do just that. They put the wheels out which pushes the inside of the tires further out away from the body, which allows clearance without rubbing.
