Default Antenna removal

I purchased a 21-in antenna for my JK and I thought all you had to do was unscrew the original and screw the new one back on but for the life of me I cannot get the original antenna to let go help is there anything I can put on it am I doing something wrong?

It shouldn't be hard to remove. Most bush-type car washes insist that you remove it so it's easy to do - unless it is seized. Then maybe a shot of penetrating oil (or any lube really) might help loosen it up.

Just to be clear, you are trying to remove the antenna from the base, and not the base from the vehicle, right?
