Antilock Brake Problem
Yes they have, fought with DC over this for quite a while , I did replicate the exact problem your having while the Service Foreman ride with me, he was shocked but I was happy. He contacted the Engineer out of Philly, Pa. and he made them send a new ABS Control Module with a fix already on it. This what the repair Invoice say's below
<FP Number (( 5KL74DX9-AC)) DISCRIPTION > OUTLET-HE
The dc Tech Engineers put a fix on a new ABS Module with the same problem discribed by me and the Service Mech Foreman. Went to Campjeep no problems and back home now no problems even on the same hills going & coming from work. I'm still punchie but it seems fixed finally,,,,,.can't get to fail now & tried many many times.(FIXED) If need be, have your dealer call & talk to Scott the Shop Foreman, My name is Jim ................reference me if need be.
I know how you are feeling, very spooky anytime using the brakes.

Well I called the dealership this morning, spoke with their services area. Explained the problem and mentioned the flash solution that 'jkisthebest' speaks about above:
(DC Flash for the ABS Control Module)
They indicated that this is only appicable for the 2 dr, mine is a 4 dr. So, I will be going in this afternoon and they are going to hook it up to the computer and see if anything 'popped up' that may pinpoint the problem. My Jeep was built in June of this year, long after the recalls on the original ABS problem. Maybe the problem still exists, who knows?
Will keep you posted.
Please make this a sticky! This could be a serious issue for new owners, I almost hit someone last night because of this, what's next, roll into a busy intersection???

Well i am sitting at the dealership as i write this, they have mentioned everything from the tires to the sensors could be the problem but who knows. They went on to tell me they havent experienced this issue before on the other 2007 JK's they have sold so far. They are going to hook it up to the computer and let me know, i am thinking a flash will do but they want to be sure.
UPDATE: Left the dealership, nothing showed up on their computer, indicated to me that since my Jeep is so new (as of June) that all of the 'software' was up to date, so there wasn't another flash they could give me that I don't already have on the Jeep. They are forwarding the issue to the engineers at DC and they are going to give me a call back by the end of the week.

Quick update, spoke with the dealership services rep, after they got through to DC Engineers they were told to drain the hydraulics and see if this corrects the problem. Heading to them next week, so any updates I should let you know.
Not sure why the hydraulics would have anything to do with it? Is this a new problem, or did I get a lemon?

Well here is what happened, they ended up putting an update to my software ABS Module (like I told them to do from the beginning), they didn't replace anything, contacted the Chrysler Engineers, who told them to do 'an extra step' in the update module process. Those were their exact words....so even though my Jeep was made in July it required an extra step to update the ABS Module. So we'll see if the problem persists, but they never ended up draining the hydraulics or whatever they said they were going to do.
I too have the same problem. Braking during a gradual uphill the brake pedal will feel like it is locked, with NO brakes. It will release after 1-2 seconds and brake normally but really scary!
It is at the dealer right now, they didn't find a problem since they could not duplicate it.
It was built in feb 07 so the tsb's don't apply. Must be another bug in the ABS code.
